This was the intro to a re imagined old time sci-fi TV show that was pretty popular in it’s day. The new version is the product of Ron Moore and David Eich. The pilot was done in a mini series and introduces us to the whole concept of the show and the main characters.

The Day of the Triffids is an old BBC TV mini series concerning a special plant cultivated for it”s oil which had killed humans in the past but was kept under control at least for now. Meanwhile, a comet shower seemingly unrelated to the triffids lit up the night sky all over the world with consequences no one could imagine.
