This is a modern day re-telling of the age-old tale of the youth rebelling against established authority, in this case a street dancer getting into a prestigious school, Maryland School of the Arts (MSA) that doesn’t recognise or appreciate her street dancing techniques, and at the same time competing in the much respected street dance tournament known as The Streets. Movie Review For Goodbye Solo

This is a lovely movie encompassing sadness, hope and suspense. It is shot almost as a documentary in the life of a Senegalese taxi driver played wonderfully by Souleymane Sy Savane, who is commonly referred to as Solo. He is trying to get into Flight school, as well as looking after his pregnant wife, and adopted daughter.
